In Proverbs Chapter 4, verse 20. The psalmist is talking to his Son, saying I´ve already taught you all there is to know. If you go out and abide to these words, listen to these words. Hide them in your heart. When you have your friends watch them close, you choose your friends well. Choose them well Son.

Life goes on, the pain and the things that are happening in our world today all around us. Our finances, our country’s politics, all the things that are coming up. What do you believe? Who are you? What do you stand on? Do you know who you are? God is looking for a few good men that will dare to say. "You know, I am going to serve you Lord." The Bible says:

(Proverbs 4:20-21) My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

He is not just talking to anyone, he is talking to people of God, children of God, a Son that knows. He goes on in many different places telling him seek wisdom and knowledge, and these sayings will cause you to have long life. They will cause you to have health in your body. They will cause you to be able to speak to those things that are not as if they were. To lay hands on the sick and the afflicted and see them saved. See the demon possessed delivered. They don’t tell you anymore that after you get saved you need the Holy Ghost. There will be a difference in your life. You are not going to be doing the same things that you have been doing.

(Proverbs 4:23) Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life

Ok that is work. "Keep thy heart with all diligence." You´ve been saved. You´ve been taught all the things there is to know. Its years down the road, you find out that finances, marriage, kids, all sorts of things come in. May be the love has gone out of your marriage. Maybe you don´t love each other anymore, but you don’t believe in divorce so you have to stay. When the whole world if they don’t like it will just divorce tomorrow, and go find someone. Marriages aren’t lasting and it’s a shame, that the percentage is just as high or higher in the church as it is in the world. It doesn’t have to be that way. Come to God. God said you put him first, Keep your eyes fastened on Him, it says diligently.

(Proverbs 4:23-26) Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet.

That means you’re weighing them, your thinking about it, you’re sitting there and saying. Are my feet doing right? Are they wrong? How do I feel?

(Proverbs 4:27) Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Now it´s not necessarily that you are doing evil, but what the man is saying is. Son there are a lot of things out there that the devils using to trip you up. You might be taught all these things, how to serve God. You might even be taught how to have the Holy Spirit. But you might be to the place that, Lord you have to deliver me, and set me free from the things that have me bound. You may feel checked out on life. You know, the spirits out there are real. That´s why some have to go to the bar and they have to have something to drink, to take away all the things that are weighing down on them. They have a drink and it gives them a better feeling, kind of like a false Holy Spirit. I´m telling you when you get saved, not only saved when you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you are going to feel His presence come in you. A power, come in you, a direction to your life.

(Proverbs 4:23-24) Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

Now the Bible talks about the mouth and the lips it says:

(Matthew 4:12:34) Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

It is talking about a willful mouth that speaks whatever it wants. A tongue that you cannot control is willful. It becomes obstinate and contrary. You say I´m just being truthful, but you just cut the guys head off, really. The Holy Spirit makes a difference. And when he comes in and starts cleaning out the things. A lot of people want a certain amount of God, but they do not want the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a discerner. He is the one that cleans up lives. That´s where the Holy Spirit works.

(Proverbs 4:23) Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Issues of life are everyday living, the things we go through. The emotions, the way we feel inside. There are things that get down in you and I, on the outside we could love God be filled with the Holy Spirit, and want to serve God. And yet the enemy starts attacking it can be, through our children. It can be through some finance company. It could be through something else. We say were going to church, and we love the Lord with our whole heart. But yet even though we look good on the outside there can be hell going on in the inside. You can shake somebody’s hand and say I´m feeling good. Then go home and not feel, and say Lord I want to feel your presence. Pray through, get it back. One of the hardest things is when a marriage is gone sour, it´s hard for anyone to say. You know I’m the guilty party, I´m going to put it back. It’s just easier to split. That’s what they’re doing. I believe God mends marriages. I believe God can do the impossible.

When he talks about our mouth the perverse when we call ourselves Christ like, and we love him. There will be things that will not just erupt out of you as a volcano, it does not line up with the word of God. It is not how Jesus would act, those things that come out he is saying: Son watch how they come out. Watch your lips. Watch your mouth what you say, he even goes on to say your eyes.

(Proverbs 4:25) Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

The Bible says: don´t look at those things, don’t even go there. He says in:

(Psalms 1:1) Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

You can find yourself sometimes you’ve known God, You love God, but you find yourself all of a sudden looking at the things you should have looked at. He says:

(Proverbs 4:25) Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

You keep them on Jesus. It doesn´t mean that you can’t have fun. But he’s warning this young man about his heart, that there’s going to be things that are going to come in life. We´re living in a day, we need Jesus back again. We need his presence. The Bible says:

(John 14:12) Greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

He’s going to do greater works in this new day than ever. The Bible says: Watch your lips, watch your mouth, watch your eyelids, watch where you go. If you keep Gods word, He will give you long life, and make it well.

(Proverbs 4:7) Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding

He says wisdom and knowledge, out of it He’s going to give you a desire to praise him to worship Him. See if you´re seeking those things. It adds to your life, not only long life, but he can give you a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. All of us need filled with the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is the keeping power. He will go before you. He will be behind you. Look forward, look forward, don’t look to the left or to the right. Keep your eyes on Jesus.
